Where are Backwater Cabins located?

Backwater Cabins are located in Henry County, Alabama, with an Abbeville address — but we’re actually situated almost exactly halfway between downtown Abbeville and downtown Eufaula. This gives guests quick access to restaurants, shops, and local attractions in both towns.

We’re also just 1 mile from Thomas Mill Landing, a popular and convenient public boat ramp on Lake Eufaula (Walter F. George Reservoir). Guests can enjoy fast, easy access to the lake while staying in a peaceful, wooded setting perfect for relaxing, fishing, or exploring the outdoors.

What is included in each cabin?

Each cabin is set up exactly the same: 

• Kitchenette with Microwave, mini fridge, 4 cup coffee pot, coffee cups, dish soap and paper towels. 
• 2 full size Comfortable bedrooms (including pillows and linens)
• Private bathroom (including towels, hotel soaps and toilet paper)
• Heating and air conditioning (window unit)
• Parking space long enough for a truck and boat trailer (or 2 vehicles) including outlets facing the space for charging your boat batteries.
• Smart tv and WiFi

Do you allow pets?

Yes! Backwater Cabins is pet-friendly.

Our pet policy includes:

• A  $25 pet fee 
• Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets
• Pets should not be left unattended in the cabin unless secured
• Pets must be leashed when outdoors

We love welcoming well-behaved pets—Lake Eufaula is a wonderful place for them to enjoy nature.

How far are the cabins from Lake Eufaula?

The cabins are extremely close to the lake, with Thomas Mill Landing only 1 mile away. We are also less than a 10 minute drive to highland park and hardridge creek.  This makes it easy to launch a boat, go fishing, or enjoy time by the water without long drives or crowds.

The Lake Eufaula region offers plenty to do, including:

How do I make a reservation?

What is your cancellation policy?

Any reservation that is canceled at least 72 hours in advance will receive a 90% refund. Once you are within the 72 hour window, you will not receive a refund for bookings (special exemptions many be considered for reservations that are booked less than 72 hours in advance. 

Is there parking available for boats and trailers?

Yes—each cabin offers space for 1 vehicle and 1 boat trailer. We make it easy for fishermen and lake-goers to bring all their gear. There is also an outlet facing the parking space for easy boat battery charging.
